Paris at Dawn/ New York at Dawn
Anthony Epes (photographer)
Publication: autumn 2012 (Paris), New York (2013)
The dawn hours of big cities, particularly in summer, are often a magical time. Empty streets, the beauty of the dawn light and a calm all the more beguiling for being so short-lived. Most of us have our own special dawn memories.
New York at Dawn and Paris at Dawn, featuring Anthony Epes's remarkable photographs complemented by contributions from writers and personalities past and present, aim to capture the dawn hours in these two great cities as never before.
Anthony's successful London at Dawn (John Blake/Metro 2003) had wide publicity and became a talking-point in its own right. We anticipate the new books will do the same. They will give a different perspective to both cities, evoking images, moments and memories with a resonance all their own.
For full background see Diana Bird's proposal, which includes a link to a BBC website feature on London at Dawn. UK publisher to be confirmed.
